The High Rise Beckons
The High Rise Beckons
The High Rise Beckons en Pelisplus. A sensual advertisement for the lofty high-rise buildings in an ambiguous metropolis. “The High Rise Beckons,” directed by Matt Barats, is a satirical commercial real estate ad where we’re tempted by an oddly erotic narrator and slow punch-in shots of various properties. Building to building, we observe shiny high-rises with sharp corners and immaculate views. The anonymous speaker never foregoes any of the mouthwatering details. Akin to a late-night porn advertisement, the effect is comedic and delivers a punchy commentary on the world of real-estate development.
